freedom

I walked down a narrow path
The weight of the world
A shroud
Crushing my shoulders
I cannot move

I scream for death
To come
To spread its veil over me

Sorrow rising like a mist
As I am in
The midst-
Of destruction and pain

I cry out
The only thing I know how
"God set me free"

I can breath, can move
Freedom comes
Like a dove
Descends on my shoulder

No more tears shed
Sorrow removed
The shroud is gone

For the first time
In a long time-
I am free

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"
Mathew 11:28 (NKJV)
